Do we need a holy ghost? He doesn't seem to do much in the bible , kind of a wall flower.?

I think the whole %26quot;holy ghost%26quot; thing was more of a placeholder for a much more interesting character they had in development, %26quot;Ol%26#039; Humpback Ficklesnitz%26quot;, an incontinent orangutan who was going to provide comedic relief, but the deadline snuck up on them so they got stuck with this useless %26quot;Holy Ghost%26quot; placeholder with no personality, no lines at all, and a story with no big laffs, and a three part god that%26#039;s really one god, kinda like a big Voltron.

Do we need a holy ghost? He doesn%26#039;t seem to do much in the bible , kind of a wall flower.?
Oh, he does a lot in the Bible. This is the spirit of Jesus himself in my mind. This is how I feel so close to Him. I feel his presence in the room when I think of him. That is how he is always by our side. Just in a different realm that we cannot physically see, but he is there. Yes, we need that, desparately.
Reply:He wasn%26#039;t in the Bible, he became a big, separate deal hundreds of years later.

But then, I expect you know that, and are doing a bit of teasing Christians,

Shame on you.
Reply:He is The Great Comforter Who enters your heart at Salvation!
Reply:Yes we need it, It is God himself in us, For without the Holy Ghost we are none of his. That is the NEW BIRTH. That is God%26#039;s seal of approval. It is our token or promise of eternal life.
Reply:He is far from a wall flower! The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, and is as much God as the Father and the Son.

The Bible tells us that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit indwelled the Christians. Christ foretold that he would be sending him to us, and referred to him as the Comforter.

It is through the work of the Holy Spirit that sinful man receives the desire for a better relationship with the Father, and it is through the work of the Holy Spirit that Christ lives in our hearts.
Reply:well they perform as cheerleaders i think
Reply:Let%26#039;s see. Do you need YOUR spirit? Would you still be YOU? Would you still be your WORD? If you need all of these to make you, you, then So Does GOD. They don%26#039;t behave like 3 different persons of YOU, and they aren%26#039;t 3 different gods either. We were made in God%26#039;s image. God doesn%26#039;t have an image. God just IS. The closest personification of God, is Jesus--HIS WORD made FLESH. The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit, is How God impregnated Mary when she was a virgin.
Reply:Yes He is the mind of God that descended in the form of a dove to convert the apostles!
Reply:Yes, you are right, not much is mentioned about the HS. The Holy Spirit is the Voice of God. It is the %26quot;Voice%26quot; which speaks within you. Just because the HS is not mentioned much in the Bible does not mean that the HS is not a powerful force. Every time you feel something in you, that tells you the truth about yourself, that is the HS speaking.
Reply:Wow r u kidding after Jesus left he sent the holy spirit and the disciples healed many and raised some from the dead!
Reply:The Holy Spirit is God, so if you don%26#039;t know much about the Holy Spirit, you%26#039;re telling us you don%26#039;t know much about God. Do you understand how the Trinity works......If you believe in God the Father, and Jesus Christ the Son, then you also believe in the Holy Spirit. If you don%26#039;t believe in the Holy Spirit, you neither believe in Jesus Christ or God the Father. It%26#039;s a %26quot;package%26quot; deal. You don%26#039;t know very much about Christianity do you.
Reply:I never found much use for it, nor the other two fellows
